Lee's Refinery was named after multiple family members of Lee's Refinery's founder Erica. A North Carolina native referencing Virginian and North Carolinian ancestry at the time of conceptualizing Lee's Refinery.  

Refinery was a nod to family tradition and descriptor of the habits and traits of the specific aforementioned individuals. A traditional Refinery is defined as a facility where raw materials are converted into some valuable substance by having impurities removed (from Vocabulary.com). Although not projected to mimic those exact functions, this felt like something that resonated with the founding idea(s) of what Lee's Refinery was going to be.

From Erica, " One of the Lee's in my life worked in recycling and would separate anything he could (Copper, Aluminum, and so on), then proceed to explain to me why and the value those items held. Another Lee sewed her daughter's wedding dress and patches onto jeans out of necessity instead of a fashion statement. Sharing resources, shopping sales/outlets, gifting "hand-me-downs" were all integral parts of my childhood. These are also the things that heavily contributed to the founding  ideas of Lee's Refinery and why key aspects of the business have manifested the way they have. "   

We do. Lee's Refinery sources a variety of masculine items some of which include clothing, shoes, and accessories. Although we currently carry a majority of feminine goods, especially in our online storefronts (physical events usually have more masculine items), we're working on incorporating more inclusive styling options in our online space as well.

Thus far, we've attended selling events in North Carolina and Virginia that offered flexibility to accommodate our setup and furthering our mission.

Although we offer various curated goods, we currently store a substantial amount of unlisted inventory (inventory not yet available for purchase). Some of which may not be available to the general public for sometime. 

Because of this you're welcome to attend our events and/or Contact Us if you're looking for something specific. If so, we also highly recommend attending our physical events; where more inventory and sales options are available.
